Botanical Name Myristica fragrans Origin- Native To Moluccas, Cultivated In Indonesia, Srilanka, And The West Indies Especially In Grenada. Part Of Plant Used Seed Method Of Extraction Steam Distillation Aroma And Colour Nutmeg Oil Is A Pale Yellow Colored Oily Liquid With A Sweet, Warm, Spicy Odour And Terpeney Top Note. Therapeutic Indication Analgesic, Anti-Emetic, Anti-Oxidant, Anti-Rheumatic, Antiseptic, Anti-Spasmodic, Aphrodisiac, Carminative, Digestive, Emmenagogue, Larvicidal, Stimulant And Tonic. Principal Constituents Monoterpene Hydrocarbons (Up To 88%), Camphene, Pinene, Dipentene, Sabinene, Cymene, With Lesser Amounts Ofgeraniol, Borneol, Linalool, Terpineol, Myristicin (4-8%), Safrole And Elemicin.
